Many people travel to South Africa to see big game, but they are missing the boat if they don’t check out the birds. Kruger National Park has 507 identified species and houses a number of magnificent birds such as the Ground Hornbill, Kori Bustard and the Lilac Breasted Roller. Birds large and small appear on a regular basis to add color to the landscape. Unusually named but common are the Red-Crested Korhaan, Glossy Ibis and Emerald-spotted Wood Dove. They make their appearance as people visit Kruger National Park. On a good day bird watchers may spot over 100 different species.
